What happens when a rock music drummer, a country singer and a military man all become Pastors and start to sing? ..Heavenly tunes with an awesome beat! They call themselves "Heaven's Blend and they really do, quite well! Their fans are affectionately known as "Blenders". I always think of food when I hear the term "Blender". I guess it fits, because they often sing in conjunction with a nice Church supper. Such was the case on Saturday, November 15th, when they sang at the Waldoboro Word of Life Church. First came the potluck supper (with "Blenders") at 5:30 PM, then this gospel trio, Heaven's Blend, ministered in concert at 7:00 PM. Known throughout the state of Maine, they have played as far away as Texas and Louisiana. (Hey, after all, this is Southern gospel) Part comedy, part music and all ministry, these three men take their music and their ministries very serious. Through their lively music, they share the Love of God and sing about His care for people in every situation. With a unique talent, they disarm the audience as they touch hearts and minds with hope, encouragement and thanksgiving for God's faithfulness and goodness. Many times, they report, people are touched to the core and ministered to in unique areas of need that no one but God and the person knew anything about. Supernatural healing occurs as God touches hearts in a unique and personal way. Music has a way of touching people where words fail. The music and singing of Heaven's Blend is no exception. They don't claim to have any special insight into peoples' needs, they just sing and minister from the heart and God does His thing. The results speak for themselves. For those looking for a fun and relaxing night out, a Heaven's Blend concert may be just what the doctor ordered. And for those looking for a good meal to precede it well how can you beat a good old fashioned New England Church Supper? The trio is made up of Tom Rawley, senior pastor of the Waldoboro Word of Life Church. (Former Country singer). Then there's Gary Leet, Pastor of the Lisbon Free Baptist Church, (former Rock band drummer). Last but not least is Tim Connelly, (former military) who has re-enlisted in the service again, but this time its in God's army. Judging by the overflow crowd that night, I'd say they picked up a few more "Blenders"!
